A night with Mos Def and the Cool Kids. Mos Def has some of the highest regard when it comes to the indie hip-hop culture. Hhis ideas and expressions feel right and true, and his music is one of a kind. The Cool Kids are fairly new to the public eye, but their fresh-sounding old-shooled beast a flows fit right in to todays digital culture. It also has some clips of Thomas Pridgen, who was rated Modern Drummer's "Best Up and Coming Drummer" last year. He has all sorts of projects, but I knew him from The Mars Volta. He played on their albums "The Bedlam in Goliath" and "Octahedron". He is a monster. In the absolute sense.
